A polishing machine consists of a base, a polishing disc, a polishing fabric, a polishing cover and a cap. The motor is fixed on the base, and the cone sleeve for fixing the polishing disc is connected to the motor shaft by screws. The polishing fabric is fastened to the polishing disc by a ferrule. After the motor is powered on by the switch on the base, pressure can be applied to the sample by hand to polish it on the rotating polishing disc. The polishing liquid added during the polishing process can flow into the square disc placed next to the polishing machine [1] through the drainage pipe in the plastic disc fixed on the base. The polishing cover and cap can prevent dust and other debris from falling on the polishing fabric when the machine is not in use and affecting the use effect.

Polishing materials are used for polishing materials, such as grinding and polishing glass, metal, leather, semiconductors, plastics, gemstones, jade, stainless steel, etc.

For example, glass polishing uses a powdered mixture of red iron oxide, tin dioxide, aluminum oxide, cerium oxide, barium carbonate, chalk, clay, diatomaceous earth, etc., which is mixed with water to form a suspension before use.

Solid ointment is used for metal and plastic polishing.

There are four commonly used polishing pastes.

(1) White polishing paste. Made from lime, stearic acid, fatty acid, lacquer, tallow, sheep oil, white wax, etc., used for polishing nickel, copper, aluminum and bakelite.

(2) Color polishing paste. Made from feldspar powder, lacquer, fatty acid, rosin, yellow ochre, lime, terracotta powder, etc., used for polishing copper, iron, aluminum and bakelite.

(3) Green polishing paste. Made from fatty acid and chromium oxide green, etc., used for polishing stainless steel and chrome.

(4) Red polishing paste. Made from fatty acid, white wax, red iron oxide, etc., used for polishing before metal electroplating and polishing gold and silver backlight.
